Pioneer Grapplers Win Second Straight Dual, Defeating AIC 50-6

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Sacred Heart wrestling team won its second straight dual Saturday afternoon, using four pins to win at AIC 50-6.

The Pioneers won two matches by forfeit at 125 pounds and 184 pounds, taking a 12-0 lead. At 133 pounds, Tim Johnson pinned Cole Ludorf in 1:02. Brendan Goldup pinned Nicholas DeMore in 2:35 in the 149-pound match. At 165, Johnny Vrasidas needed 1:07 to pin Zachary Winegardner. Sasha Oliinyk pinned Sheldon Rhoden in the first period at 197.

Conan Schuster won his match at 174 by injury default against Brad Drover. Casey Mitchell earned bonus points at 157 pounds, winning by technical fall 17-1 over Christopher Hunter. At 141 pounds, Kyle Brady defeated Simeon Everett 8-4.

Sacred Heart now prepares for the EIWA Championships, hosted by Lehigh March 6-7.
