Wrestling Falls 30-8 At Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. – Patrick Skinner and Brendan Goldup each earned major decision victories Friday as the Sacred Heart wrestling team fell 30-8 to Princeton at Dillon Gym.

Princeton won the opening match at 174 pounds as Judd Ziegler defeated Conan Schuster 8-4. The Tigers then earned a pin at 184 to take a 9-0 lead in the dual. At 197, Abram Ayala won by major decision over Sasha Oliinyk 17-5. After a win at heavyweight for Princeton, Sacred Heart got on the board at 125. Skinner defeated Jake Intrator 12-4 to make the dual score 16-4.

After major decision wins for Princeton at 133 and 141, Goldup defeated Max Rogers 9-1 at 149. Casey Mitchell and Johnny Vrasidas battled hard in the final two matches, but Francesco Fabozzi and Jonathan Schleifer earned decision victories to make the final score 30-8.

"Our guys fought hard against a very good Princeton team," said head coach Andy Lausier. "Goldup did a great job to open the score up in the third period to get the major decision. Skinner continued his strong start as a Pioneer."

Sacred Heart hosts Army Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Pitt Center.
