SHU Wrestling Hosts Franklin & Marshall Sunday For PioneerPalooza

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Sacred Heart University wrestling team opens its 2014-15 dual meet season as the Diplomats of Franklin and Marshall visit the William H. Pitt Center on November 23rd at 5:30 p.m.

Head Coach Andy Lausier has transformed the match into an entertainment event displaying the new brand of SHU Wrestling.  The event has been titled PioneerPalooza as many student organizations will compete to win a grand prize of $1,000 by proving to a panel of judges they have the most school spirit on campus.  The competition will be judged on visual appearance, creativity and overall volume throughout the wrestling meet.  Professional lighting, music and visual effects in combination with high energy fans are sure to create an electric atmosphere.

There will be a Fan Festival before the match at 4:30pm with free popcorn, free photo booth and a boxing arcade game where fans can compete to win prizes.  Fans will also have the opportunity to meet MMA star Nick Newel and hear about his inspirational success story.

In addition, everyone in attendance will be given a raffle ticket for a chance to win a free iPhone 6.  Come join the excitement at the first annual PioneerPalooza this Sunday at 5:30pm in the William H. Pitt Center.
