Sacred Heart University seniors Trevor Guerrera and Kate Svensen completed their sparkinling careers with strong performances at the 2018 NCAA East Regional at USF Track and Field Stadium in Tampa, Fla. The racing schedule was adjusted due to inclement weather in Tampa, where humidity was over 86 percent.
Guerrera placed in a tie for 36th place, crossing at 1:50.19, the same time as Justin Pacifico from the University of Florida. Svensen finished her race in a time 36:55.05, good for 42nd place in the national semifinal.
Guerrera just missed earning a quarterfinal berth, finishing fourth in his heat. He finished .17 seconds shy of Florida's Kyren Hollis, who earned the final automatic advancement from the heat.
