Boston, MA.- The Sacred Heart men's track and field team competed at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic this weekend.
Trevor Guerrera made his season debut in the 800 meters, opening in a school record and personal best performance. The senior and 2017 NEC champion was the 1st collegian to cross the line, in a time of 1:48.41 that shatters the IC4A and New England standard. Guerrera also took over the indoor 800 meter school record set by Patrick Peterson in 2013, 1:48.69. Not only does he now lead the NEC in the event by more than six seconds, but he currently ranks sixth in all of NCAA Division I this season.
Teammate Nicholas Pandolfo also debuted in the event, finishing in a personal best 1:56.76 that moves him into 7th in NEC rankings.
Other notable performances:
Andrew Travins matched his personal best in the pole vault, clearing 13'3.5 feet (4.05m).
Senior Brenden Twumasi-Ankrah ran a personal best in the 400 meters, crossing in 51.02.
Christian Morris ran an indoor personal best in the 800, finishing in a time of 1:57.88.
