SOMERSET, N.J.- The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team was selected to tie for fourth in the Northeast Conference preseason coaches poll announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Bryant was the unanimous pick to claim a sixth consecutive NEC crown and added to an already crowded trophy case in Smithfield.
Fairleigh Dickinson was chosen as the runner-up, followed by fellow NEC contender Wagner. Mount St. Mary's was slotted fourth, followed by Sacred Heart in the fourth slot as well. St. Francis Brooklyn rounded out the seven-team poll. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday Feb. 9 when SHU hosts UCONN at the Tennis Club of Trumbull. Match-time is set for 6:00 p.m.
