STAMFORD, Conn. – A prestigious collegiate career for Sacred Heart men's lacrosse senior midfielder Max Tuttle has led to another professional lacrosse opportunity as the Chrome Lacrosse Club selected the Colorado native with the 15th pick in the inaugural Premier Lacrosse League College Draft on Tuesday, April 23.
The PLL brings the sport of lacrosse to a national stage for the first time through a tour-based model, complete with the best players the sport has to offer. Co-founded by lacrosse superstar, philanthropist, and investor Paul Rabil and his brother, serial entrepreneur and investor, Mike Rabil, the Premier Lacrosse League is backed by an investment group comprised of The Raine Group, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), The Chernin Group, and Blum Capital. The PLL season will begin in June 2019, with six teams, embarking on a 14-week season that concludes with a playoff and PLL championship game. The PLL season will be distributed through an exclusive media-rights agreement with NBC Sports Group.
Tuttle has put together another standout season for the Pioneers, racking up 48 points (34 goals, 14 assists) to go along with 49 ground balls through 13 games in 2019. For his career, Tuttle ranks third all-time at SHU in points (188) and is tied with Stephen Grabow '03 for the all-time lead in career goals with 129. His 3.69 points per game average this season ranks 50th in the nation while his 2.62 goals per game clip has him 34th-best in the country.
The senior was named to the 2019 Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Second Team, this came on the heels of him becoming the first player in program history to earn All-American honors with an honorable mention nod in 2018. Earlier this season, Tuttle was drafted with the No. 6 pick in the 2019 Major League Lacrosse Draft by the Denver Outlaws, becoming the highest draft pick in program history as well as the first-ever Pioneer selected in the first round of the MLL Draft.
Chrome LC opens its season on Saturday, June 1st against Archers LC at Gillette Stadium at 1 PM.
