    Sacred Heart men’s lacrosse redshirt senior Joe Saggese pumped in a career-high eight points, on the strength of three goals and five assists, to lead the Pioneers to a convincing 17-9 win over Binghamton on Tuesday afternoon from Campus Field. The Pioneers move to 8-5 on the season, finishing the 2019 season with a 3-3 home record, while the Bearcats drop to 0-11 in 2019.

    Fresh off one of the most-impressive wins in program history, the Sacred Heart men’s lacrosse team wraps up play from Campus Field with Tuesday’s non-conference matchup with Binghamton. The Pioneers (7-5, 3-2 NEC) are coming off the program’s largest conference win in program history and their largest victory since the 2007 season as SHU knocked off Saint Joseph’s, 19-4, at Campus Field on Saturday. Meeting the Bearcats for the first since 2014, the Pioneers look to break through as SHU comes in with an 0-3 all-time record against Binghamton.

    On a perfect Spring afternoon, the Sacred Heart men’s lacrosse team’s play matched the weather conditions as the Pioneers dominated Saint Joseph’s, scoring a 19-4 victory for the largest NEC win in program history. The 15-goal victory moves the Pioneers to 7-5 on the season and, more importantly, 3-2 in NEC play while the Hawks drop down to 6-6 overall and 2-2 in the league.

    Fresh off a thrilling road win over Bryant, the Sacred Heart men’s lacrosse hosts Saint Joseph’s on Saturday for their final NEC home game of the 2019 regular season. The Pioneers (6-5, 2-2 NEC) look to shake off a recent run against the Hawks (6-5, 2-1 NEC) in which SHU has lost five of the last six meetings facing Saint Joe’s. Saturday’s game also serves as the Pioneers’ Senior Day in which SHU will honor its senior Class of 2019 prior to the start of play. Opening faceoff from Campus Field is set for 1 PM.

    Trailing by two at the half, the Sacred Heart men’s lacrosse team used a dominating 6-1 third quarter advantage to post a crucial 11-8 road win over Bryant on Saturday afternoon from Beirne Stadium. The win snaps a two-game conference losing skid and marks the first time in program history that the Pioneers have defeated perennial league power Bryant. Prior to today, SHU had gone 0-12 all-time against the Bulldogs including a mark of 0-6 in games played in Smithfield.

    At a pivotal point in the NEC slate, the Sacred Heart men’s lacrosse team hits the road for a crucial showdown at perennial league power Bryant on Saturday with the opening faceoff set for Noon. After toppling Robert Morris to open conference play, the Pioneers have lost two straight to a pair of teams in Hobart and Mount St. Mary’s that remain unbeaten in the NEC. Owning a 1-2 league record, the Pioneers shuttle off to face the Bulldogs this weekend who share an identical 1-2 mark in NEC play this season. Magnifying the significance of Saturday’s contest is the Pioneers’ 0-12 all-time record against Bryant as SHU searches for a much-needed victory against an opponent they’ve never beaten in program history.
