Fairfield, CT - Senior Bear Trapp (Regina, SK) has been named the Atlantic Hockey Co-Player of the Week for the week of February 2-8. Trapp also was tabbed the Enterprise Rent-A-Car/Sacred Heart University Student-Athlete of the Week for the same time period.
Trapp led the Pioneer offense against RIT, finishing the weekend with six points on two goals and four assists. He got the Pioneers started in Friday night's victory, scoring SHU's first goal. He then assisted on the fourth and fifth goals, getting the primary helper on the third period's game winner. Saturday night Trapp figured in on all three Pioneer goals, scoring the second goal while assisting on the first and third tallies. Trapp set a new school record for career assists, finishing the weekend with 94. His six points gave him 147 for his career, moving him into second place all-time. The senior leads the team in scoring with seven goals and 17 assists on the year.
The Pioneers are back on the ice Friday night when they open a home-and-home series with Army at the Milford Ice Pavilion. Face-off is set for 7:05 pm.
