WORCESTER, Mass.- Sacred Heart University Men's Ice Hockey freshman Nick Boyagian was named this weeks Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week for his performance against Holy Cross this past weekend. The first year compiled a total of three points which consisted of a goal and two assists. In the fifteen games he has played this season, Boyagian has tallied three goals, three assists for a total of six points. This is the first weekly award the freshman has been awarded this year.
Boyagian has started to make an impact in the Sacred Heart lineup after not dressing for eight of the first 12 games of the year. The freshman forward recorded the second multi-point game of his season in Friday's 5-2 win over Holy Cross, netting a goal and adding two assists for three points. His goal was one of four scored in the third period as the Pioneers broke a 1-1 tie and pulled away for the victory.
The Pioneers return to action tonight as SHU takes on in-state rival UCONN. Puck-drop is set for 7:05 p.m.
