Men’s Golf Takes 18th at Hartford Hawks Invitational

Individual Leaderboard Final Results 

SOUTH KENT, Conn.—The Sacred Heart men's golf team placed 18th in the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Bull's Bridge Golf Club on Tuesday. The Pioneers finished +38 in the two round tournament. 

Sacred Heart finished a rain filled first round with a team score of 301 for 13-over par on Monday. In the final round on Tuesday, The Pioneers finished with a team score of 313 for 25 strokes over par. Cal Poly took home the team crown with a score of 558 for 18-under par. Second place UCF finished three strokes back of them with a score of 15-under par.

Junior Matt Shubley was the top finisher for the Pioneers, as he tied for 55th with a two-round score of +7.  Shubley shot 75 in round one and 76 in the final round. Right behind Shubley at +8 was senior AJ Correira, who finished tied for 61st. Sophomore Hector Gutierrez finished tied for 85th with a score of +12. Freshman Clifford Lindholm closed out the scoring group at +15.

Sacred Heart will take next weekend off before playing in the Macdonald Cup October 1-2 at The Course at Yale.
