SIMSBURY, Conn.—The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished tied for seventh at this weekend's Ryan T. Lee Memorial Intercollegiate at Hop Meadow Country Club.
Tom D'Andrea was the Pioneers top finisher this weekend, finishing tied for 14th at 5-over par. After shooting a round of 78 in round one on Saturday, D'Andrea bounced back on Sunday to shooting a round of 71. Junior Matt Shubley finished tied for 24th with a score of 7-over par. In his first collegiate tournament, freshman Clifford Lindholm tied for 29th with a score of +8. Rounding out the Pioneers scoring group was sophomore Hector Gutierrez with a score of 13-over par.
As a team, Sacred Heart were +33 for the tournament, tied with Bentley and seven strokes behind Fairfield for sixth place.
The Pioneers will be back on the links early next week Sept. 19-20 for the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Bulls Bridge Country Club.
