Men’s Golf Moves Up To Eighth On Final Day Of Til Duty Is Done Invitational

BALTIC, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's golf team moved up one spot on the leaderboard Sunday at the Til Duty Is Done Invitational at Mohegan Sun Country Club, finishing in eighth place at +50.

Hector Gutierrez was the Pioneers' top finisher, tying for 25th place at +8. The freshman fired a four-over 76 on Sunday. Tom D'Andrea was part of the group tied for 40th at +16 after he posted his best round of the tournament Sunday, a three-over 75. AJ Correia also had his best round of the weekend Sunday, posting a 74 to finish tied for 48th at +18. Alex Manner and Matt Shubley both finished tied for 56th at +21, with both players posting rounds of 76 on Sunday. Connor Cunningham, playing as an individual, finished 34th at +12 after a final round 78.

The Pioneers were +13 on Sunday, their best team round of the tournament. At +50 for the weekend, SHU finished one stroke ahead of 10th-place LIU Brooklyn. UConn won the tournament at -18, followed by Rhode Island at -7.

SHU now travels to Daytona Beach, Fla. for the 2016 NEC Men's Golf Championship, held April 29-May 1 at LPGA International.
