GRASONVILLE, Md. – The Sacred Heart men's golf team finished the Towson Invitational in 14th Sunday after a second round team score of 330, 42 strokes over par. This put the Pioneers' tournament total at 643, and 67 strokes over par.
Matt Shubley was the highest finisher on the leaderboard for SHU, tying for 23rd after a 10 over par 82 in the second round put him at +11. Tom D'Andrea placed in the group tied for 34th at 14 over par for the tournament after he carded an 80 in the second round. Hector Gutierrez finished tied for 64th with a two round total of 165 put him at +22. Alex Manner improved on his first round score by three strokes with an 11-over par 83 to finish in 76th, while Curtis Quinn finished one spot behind in 77th after he shot 17-over par in the second round.
Sacred Heart ended up behind three NEC foes with Fairleigh Dickinson, Robert Morris, and LIU Brooklyn finishing tied for 10th, 12th, and 13th respectively. Georgetown pulled ahead of Drexel to finish in first place on the leaderboard at 29 over par.
The Pioneers are next in action on April 16 for the first round of the Yale Spring Invitational.
