Sacred Heart Mens Golf Places Third At Rhody Invitational

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. – Paced by two top-20 finishes, the Sacred Heart men's golf team finished tied for third at the Rhody Invitational at Green Valley Country Club this past weekend. Redshirt-Junior Peter Ballo (Stamford, Conn.) was the Pioneers' top finisher, firing a pair of 77s on the par-7 1 course to finish tied for fourth.

Sophomore Sam Barber (North Bay, Ontario) finished tied for 13th with a two-round total of 159. Ross Kronberg's (New Canaan, Conn.) two-day score of 161 to finish tied for 22nd. Joshua Salah (Gloucester, Mass.) finished one stroke behind Kronberg and placed tied for 25th.

The Pioneers were second heading into Sunday's final round, but a team-total of 323 on Sunday put them in a tie with Bryant for third place. Rhode Island won the team competition with a two-day total of 622, seven shots better than second-place Delaware.

Sacred Heart is back in action April 13-14 at the D-I New England Championship in Newport, R.I. at Newport National Country Club.
