The 2019 season will be the fifth for Pat Saporito as a member of the SHU coaching staff, working primarily with the safeties and serving as the program's recruiting coordinator. Under his guidance as the wide receivers coach, Andrew O'Neill earned All-NEC Second Team honors in 2017.

  • Saporito came to SHU from Elmhurst College where he coached tight ends and inside receivers during the 2014 season
  • He spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons as the safeties coach and video coordinator at Stetson University, running the punt block team and coaching the PFL Defensive Freshman of the year
  • Saporito coached the wide receivers at Alderson Broaddus in 2011, after a season at the US Merchant Marine academy coaching receivers and tight ends
  • He broke into the coaching ranks in 2009 at the University of Charleston as the assistant wide receivers coach
  • Saporito earned his BA in History from Iona College in 2006
  • He played two seasons as a graduate student at Western New Mexico University, playing receiver and special teams
