Men's Basketball Falls to Fairleigh Dickinson, 81-63 on the Road

HACKENSACK, N.J. - The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team fell to Fairleigh Dickinson, 81-63 on the road Thursday evening at the Rothman Center. The loss drops the Pioneers' record to 12-16 overall and 8-7 in league play, while the Knights improve to 14-13 on the year and 9-6 in NEC action.

E.J. Anosike tallied a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Koreem Ozier added a team-high 22 points in the loss.

  • With FDU leading 2-0 with 17:37 left in the first half, the Pioneers went on a 9-1 run to take a 9-3 lead with 15:12 remaining in the half

  • After FDU cut the deficit to 9-7, the Pioneers went on a 6-0 run after back-to-back three-pointers from Koreem Ozier to extend the lead to 15-7 with with 12:05 remaining

  • The Knights responded with a 16-7 run to take a 23-22 lead with 5:08 remaining

  • After SHU took a 24-23 lead, the Knights used the final 4:03 of the half to go on a 13-6 run to take a 36-30 lead into the break

  • E.J. Anosike recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds in the first half

  • Ozier led all SHU scorers with 15 points


  • After falling behind 39-30, the Pioneers went on an 8-3 run to cut the deficit to 44-40 with 17:47 remaining in the contest

  • With FDU leading 44-40, the Knights went on a 12-4 run to push its lead to 56-44 with 12:34 left in the half

  • After SHU cut the deficit to 58-50 with 10:52 remaining, FDU went on a 14-4 run to push its lead to 72-54 with 4:23 to go in the contest

  • The Knights held on for the 81-63 win

  • Parker's nine assists gives him 185 on the season, setting the NEC single-season freshman assist record, previously held by LIU Brooklyn's Jason Brickman who tallied 180 during the 2010-11 season
