Men's Basketball falls to Boston College on the Road, 81-73

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team fell to Boston College, 81-73, on the road Thursday evening at the Conte Forum. The loss drops the Pioneers to 3-5 on the year, while the Eagles improve to 6-1

E.J. Anosike led the Pioneers with a career-high 22 points and grabbed nine boards, while Sean Hoehn added 19 points in the loss. Cameron Parker contributed seven points, six rebounds and 13 assists.

  • B.C. used the opening 11 minutes of the game to go on a 20-4 run

  • The run was stopped after E.J. Anosike scored on a layup with 8:21 remaining in the first half

  • Trailing 28-11, Cameron Parker nailed a three-pointer with 4:13 to cut the deficit to 14

  • Parker's three-pointer sparked a Pioneer 13-6 run to close the half down 34-24


  • Jare'l Spellman's hook shot cut the SHU deficit to 38-29, the first time the Pioneers were within single-digits since trailing 12-4 with 12:41 left in the first half

  • After the Pioneers cut the deficit to 38-29, B.C. responded with a 13-6 run over 4:27 to push its lead to 51-35

  • SHU immediately responded with a 10-5 run of its own to cut the deficit to 56-45, with Sean Hoehn and Anosike combining to score all 10 points for the Pioneers

  • Trailing 65-51, the Pioneers went on a 14-6 run over 3:21 to cut the deficit to 71-63 with 1:48 left in regulation

  • Anosike and Hoehn combined to score 12 of the 14 points on the run

  • SHU was able to cut the deficit to as close as 79-73, but B.C. held on for the
