SOMERSET, N.J. – Sacred Heart hoops will be featured in four of the Northeast Conference's record setting 26 games to be televised on ESPN and CBS platforms for the 2018-19 season as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. Both the men's and women's basketball programs will appear in two contests.
The men will battle Wagner in the first game of an NEC doubleheader January 10, with tip-off slated for 7 p.m. on ESPN3. Their second feature, airing on ESPN+, is a weekend matchup against Mount St. Mary's set for Saturday, February 9, on the backend of a doubleheader with action beginning at 3 p.m.
On the women's side, the Pioneers will play in front of a live national audience when they take on Mount St. Mary's first, Saturday, February 9 at noon on ESPN3. Later in the month, SHU will take the hardwood at Fairleigh Dickinson on ESPN+ February 25 for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
Come the postseason, ESPN3 will carry the men's semifinals on Saturday, March 9 and the women's semis on Thursday, March 14. As part of the network's Championship Week coverage, the NEC men's title game will be televised by ESPN or ESPN2 for the 32nd straight year on Tuesday, March 12th at 7:00 pm. For the 12th year in a row, ESPNU will carry the NEC Women's Championship game. This year's final is scheduled for Sunday, March 17th at 2:00 pm.
