Setting the Scene... SHU closes the home portion of its 2017-18 schedule Saturday when it hosts Mount St. Mary's on Senior Day. The pregame Senior Day ceremony will take place at 12:50 p.m. The first 100 SHU students in attendance Saturday will receive a Senior Day t-shirt.

Last Time Out... SHU shot 54.5% from the field Thursday night but couldn't stop the hot three-point shooting of Wagner in a 99-84 loss to the Seahawks. Wagner made 16 three-pointers in the game to the Pioneers' eight. Sean Hoehn led all scorers with a career-high 24 points. Mario Matasovic had 14 points, seven rebounds, and a career-high five assists. Joseph Lopez had his ninth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. JoJo Cooper led Wagner with 23 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
Senior Day... Prior to Saturday's game, SHU will honor the seven seniors on this season's team - De'von Barnett, Cavan LaRose, Joseph Lopez, Mario Matasovic, Chris Robinson, Charles Tucker Jr., and manager Lily Pierce. Over the last four years, this group has won 39 games and put the Pioneers in the NEC Tournament in each of the last three seasons.
Hoehn Sets Career-High For Second Straight Game... For the second straight game, Sean Hoehn set a career-high in scoring with his 24 points against Wagner on Thursday. He was 8-for-13 from the field with three three-pointers against the Seahawks. Last Saturday, Hoehn scored 22 points in SHU's win at Central Connecticut. In his last 12 games, Hoehn is averaging 13.7 points and 4.25 assists per game. During that stretch, he's shooting 38.2% from the three-point line and 81.3% from the free throw line.
Mario The Distributor... Mario Matasovic set a career-high in assists for the second consecutive game with five against Wagner on Thursday. He also had 14 points and seven rebounds. In the last four games, Matasovic is averaging 15 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 54.8% from the field. He is second in the NEC in field goal percentage at 56.5% and is the only Pioneer to start every games this season.
High-Percentage Points Leading To High Field Goal Percentage... SHU has had at least 30 points in the paint in 15 of the last 18 games. The Pioneers have shot at least 40% from the field in 12 straight games after shooting 54.5% against Wagner on Thursday. It was the fifth time SHU made at least half of its shots from the field.
All-Time Vs. Mount St. Mary's... The Mountaineers lead the all-time series against SHU 25-10. Mount St. Mary's has won each of the last five meetings, with the last Pioneer win coming on Jan. 21, 2016 in a 76-71 victory at the Pitt Center.
Last Meeting... SHU cut a 17-point second-half deficit to four with less than five minutes to go on Jan. 11, but couldn't get any closer to Mount St. Mary's in an 81-75 loss at Knott Arena. De'von Barnett led SHU in scoring with 19 points. Mario Matasovic had a double-double of 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Junior Robinson led all scorers with 23 points.
Scouting Mount St. Mary's... The Mountaineers dropped to three games back of first-place Wagner after an 80-79 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson on Thursday night. Junior Robinson led Mount St. Mary's with 23 points, adding five assists while making 14 of 16 foul shots. Robinson leads the NEC in scoring at 22.3 points per game, and is second in assists (5.0/game) and free throw percentage (.900). As a team, the Mountaineers lead the NEC in three-pointers made (10.29/game) and three-point field goal percentage (.373).
