Setting the Scene... SHU looks to Pack The Pitt Thursday night in a nationally-televised game on ESPNU against LIU Brooklyn.

Catch the Game... Thursday's game will be televised on ESPNU with Mike Crispino and Julianne Viani on the call.

Last Time Out... SHU had a chance to force overtime at Saint Francis U Sunday, but split a pair of free throws with 0.6 seconds left to fall 72-71. The Pioneers led by five with 3:22 to go. De'von Barnett led the Pioneers with 18 points, adding nine rebounds. Kinnon LaRose made three three-pointers on his way to 11 points and six rebounds. The Red Flash's Jamaal King led all scorers with 21 points.

February's Our Month... Over the last three seasons, SHU is 17-7 in the month of February. The Pioneers were 6-2 in February in 2015 and 2016, and 5-3 last season. SHU has been especially good at the Pitt Center in February over the last three years, posting a 12-1 record on the home floor.

Barnett's Closing In On 1,000... Redshirt-Senior forward De'von Barnett now has 975 career points after leading SHU with 18 points at Saint Francis U Sunday. Over his last seven games, Barnett has averaged 12.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. He has shot 57.8% from the field and 72.2% from the free throw line over that stretch as well. Barnett has scored in double figures in six of the last 10 games.

Lopez On The Glass... Senior foward Joseph Lopez is second in the NEC in rebounding at 9.2 boards per game. Lopez has had at least six rebounds in 16 straight games dating back to Nov. 29 at UMass Lowell. He had his ninth double-digit rebound game on Sunday at Saint Francis U with 11. It was his third game with at least 10 boards in his last four. Lopez leads SHU in scoring at 12.5 points per game.

All-Time Vs. LIU Brooklyn... The Blackbirds lead the all-time series with the Pioneers 23-11. LIU Brooklyn won both meetings last season by a combined four points. The last two times SHU has won against LIU Brooklyn the Pioneers have scored at least 90 points - 90-85 at the Pitt Center in 2015 and 98-90 in 2016 at the Pitt Center.

Last Meeting... SHU had a five-game winning streak snapped after an 83-82 loss at LIU Brooklyn on Feb. 18, 2017. The Pioneers had a chance to tie the game with 0:05 left but split a pair of foul shots and couldn't get another shot off. De'von Barnett and Joseph Lopez each led SHU with 18 points. Lopez added a game-high 14 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season. Iverson Fleming led LIU Brooklyn with 24 points.

Scouting LIU Brooklyn... Picked sixth in the NEC Preseason Poll, the Blackbirds come into Thursday night's game at 5-5 in the NEC after a 94-89 overtime win over Central Connecticut on Saturday. Raiquan Clark led five Blackbirds in double-figures with 30 points. Joel Hernandez had a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Hernandez is second in the NEC in scoring at 19.3 points per game, while Clark is fourth at 17.8 points per game. LIU Brooklyn is second in the NEC in scoring at 77.1 points per game.
