Setting the Scene... Fresh off its first win of the season, SHU returns to the Pitt Center to take on Mitchell. 

Last Time Out.. SHU earned its first win of the season on Sunday with a 69-68 overtime win over Maine in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena. Down by four with 1:10 to go in regulation, the Pioneers got a pair of Mario Matasovic free throws and a layup by Joseph Lopez with 0:07 left to force overtime. Lopez finished the game with 11 points and nine rebounds. Matasovic, Zach Radz, and Alex Watson each had 10 points. E.J. Anosike added eight points and a game-high 17 rebounds.

All-Time Vs. Mitchell... Sacred Heart is 1-0 all-time against the Mariners.

Last Meeting... SHU earned a 104-68 win over Mitchell on Dec. 14, 2014 at the Pitt Center. Five Pioneers scored in double figures, led by Evan Kelley's 21 points. Jordan Allen was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field and 5-for-5 from the foul line for 19 points. Cane Broome was 6-for-7 from the field for 15 points, and Tevin Falzon had 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds. SHU shot 60% from the field and had 27 assists to 12 turnovers.

Dial It Up... After making 10 three-pointers in its first three games combined, SHU was 9-for-29 from the three-point arc in the overtime win against Maine. Charles Tucker Jr., Kinnon LaRose, Zach Radz, and Alex Watson each had two threes in the game.

Boarding Up... The Pioneers lead the NEC in rebound margin, outrebounding its opponents by over 12 rebounds per game. The next closest is LIU Brooklyn at 1.8. SHU outrebounded its two opponents at Mohegan Sun Arena last weekend by a combined 16 boards. The Pioneers are 31st in the country in rebound margin. Joseph Lopez (10 rebounds/game) and E.J. Anosike (8.3/game) are first and third in the NEC, respectively, in rebounding.

Lopez Named To BHOF Tip-Off Tournament All-Tournament Team... Joseph Lopez was named to the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament All-Tournament Team on Sunday following SHU's overtime win over Maine. Lopez led SHU with 11 points against the Black Bears, scoring the game-tying layup with 0:07 left in regulation to force overtime. He had 10 points in Saturday night's game against Saint Peter's. Dating back to last season, Lopez has scored in double-figures in nine straight games.

Plenty In Reserves... SHU got 30 points from the bench in Sunday's overtime win over Maine. Prior to Sunday, the Pioneers had just 31 bench points in the first three games. Sophomore Zach Radz and freshman Alex Watson each had a career-high 10 points off the bench in the Pioneers' victory Sunday.

Scouting Mitchell... The Mariners opened their season last weekend at the Herb Kenny Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Wesleyan. After a 70-61 win over Salve Regina Friday night, Mitchell lost to the host Cardinals 107-64 in the championship game. Junior center Domenico Santiago leads the Mariners in scoring at 13 points per game, adding six rebounds per contest. Hasani Williams leads Mitchell in rebounding at 9.5 per game and also averages 11.5 points per game.
