Setting the Scene... The Pioneers travel to the defending NEC champions Fairleigh Dickinson for a Thursday night showdown. 

Last Time Out... Sacred Heart held a 36-33 halftime lead at Mount St. Mary's last Saturday, but the Pioneers went cold from the field in the second half in a 67-53 loss to the Mountaineers. SHU shot 25% from the field in the second half. Sean Hoehn scored a game-high 17 points, making 5-of-6 three-pointers. Joseph Lopez added 10 points and six rebounds.

All-Time vs. Fairleigh Dickinson... The Pioneers lead the all-time series against the Knights 16-12. The two teams split last season's meetings with the road team winning each game. SHU has won six of the last eight games against Fairleigh Dickinson. 

Last Meeting... Sacred Heart earned its sixth win in seven games with a 91-86 win over Fairleigh Dickinson at Stratis Arena on Feb. 20, 2016. Cane Broome scored a career-high 39 points with six rebounds and six assists. Tevin Falzon added 16 points and nine rebounds. SHU led FDU 45-44 at the half, then shot 53.6% from the field in the second half to ensure the win and move into second place in the NEC. Stephan Jiggetts led the Knights with 27 points. 

Thursday Night Is McKnight's Night... Sophomore guard Quincy McKnight is second in the NEC in scoring at 19 points per game. McKnight has had some of his best games this season on Thursdays. In NEC play, the sophomore is averaging 21.8 points per game on Thursday, shooting 44.4% from the field and 87.1% at the foul line. He has scored over 20 points three times on Thursdays including a pair of 26-point efforts against St. Francis Brooklyn and Mount St. Mary's. 

Boards By Joe... Joseph Lopez is fourth in the NEC in both rebounding at 8.6 per game and field goal percentage at 58.1%. Lopez has scored in double figures in 11 of the last 13 games. Over the last six games, Lopez is averaging 14.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game while shooting 59.4% from the field. Lopez has also had at least one blocked shot in 13 of the last 14 games.

Sean's Red-Hot Shot... Sophomore Sean Hoehn tied a season-high with 17 points at Mount St. Mary's last Saturday. Hoehn made 5-of-6 three-pointers and was 6-of-7 from the field overall. It was his third double-figure scoring effort in the last five games. Since the start of the calendar year, Hoehn is averaging 9.3 points and 3.5 assists per game and has made 50% of this three-point attempts (17-34). 

Points In Reserves... Since the start of NEC play, the Sacred Heart reserves are averaging 22.9 points per game. The Pioneers' bench has scored over 25 points four times, including putting up 35 points in the 112-110 triple overtime win at Bryant on January 14. SHU has gotten at least 10 points in a game from a reserve in each of the last seven games. 

Scouting the Knights... The defending NEC champions are 8-2 in the NEC, one game behind first-place Mount St. Mary's, and 10-11 overall. Fairleigh Dickinson lost a close 73-72 overtime game at Bryant on Saturday. Darian Jackson led the Knights with 19 points. Earl Potts Jr. added 18 points off the bench. Jackson leads FDU in scoring at 17.7 points per game. Stephan Jiggetts leads the NEC with 4.38 assists per game.
