Quincy McKnight Named Met Writers Player of the Week

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart men's basketball sophomore guard Quincy McKnight added to his weekly award total from this past weekend with the Met Basketball Writers Association Division I Player of the Week Award Tuesday.

On Monday, McKnight was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season. He was also named the Lou Henson National Player of the Week by CollegeInsider.com and put on NCAA.com's All-Week Team. McKnight averaged 35 points per game in SHU's wins last week at St. Francis Brooklyn and Bryant. He opened the week with 26 points in Thursday's win over the Terriers. On Saturday, McKnight scored a career-high 44 points in SHU's 112-110 triple-overtime win at Bryant. He scored 35 points alone in the second half and overtime. McKnight also added nine rebounds and six assists.
 
The Pioneers host first-place Mount St. Mary's Thursday night at the Pitt Center at 7 p.m.
EDIT: On Tuesday, McKnight was also named the Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week by the United States Basketall Writers Association.
