Setting the Scene... The Pioneers host Holy Cross Wednesday night in their final non-conference tuneup before NEC play starts after Christmas. 

Last Time Out... Sophomore guard Quincy McKnight scored a career-high 36 points on Sunday in SHU's 82-75 loss at Boston College. Eight of his points came in the Pioneers' 16-0 run early in the second half that erased an 11-point halftime deficit. He scored 25 points in the second half alone. Joseph Lopez added 16 points and nine rebounds. 

All-Time vs. Holy Cross... The Crusaders lead the all-time series 7-5. Sacred Heart has won four of the five meetings at the Pitt Center. 

Last Meeting... Holy Cross had five players score in double figures on its way to a 69-60 win at the Hart Center on Nov. 25, 2015. Karl Charles led the Crusaders with 15 points and seven rebounds as Matt Zignorski added 13 points off the bench. Tevin Falzon led all scorers with 21 points, adding a team-high seven rebounds. Cane Broome added 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists. The Pioneers trailed by five at halftime, 39-34, and rallied to tie the game 51-51 with 7:29 to play. Holy Cross then went on a 9-3 run to take a 60-54 lead at the 4:35 mark. 

Quincy's Career Day... Sophomore guard Quincy McKnight set a new career-high in scoring for the third time this season on Sunday, scoring 36 points at Boston College. He scored 25 points in the second half alone, going 11-for-12 at the free throw line. McKnight finished the game 10-for-18 from the field and a career-high 15-of-18 at the free throw line. He was named NEC Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. 

McKnight Keeps Scoring... After scoring 36 points Sunday at Boston College, Quincy McKnight has the two highest single-game scoring performances in the NEC so far this season. McKnight scored 34 points, his previous career-high, in SHU's win over UMass Lowell on Dec. 6. In the last five games, McKnight has averaged 22.8 points per game while shooting 40.5% from the field and 80.8% at the charity stripe. He is second in the NEC in scoring at 20 points per game.

Boarding Up... Sacred Heart has outrebounded its opponent eight times in 12 games so far this season. The Pioneers have done this in five of the last seven games, including posting a rebound margin of +21 in the last two games at Lafayette and Boston College. SHU has outrebounded its opponent by at least 15 rebounds three times with a season-high +18 rebound margin (32-18) at Fordham on Nov. 30.

Scouting the Crusaders... Holy Cross enters Wednesday night's game at 4-7 after a 65-54 loss at Rhode Island on Sunday. Malachi Alexander led the Crusaders with 15 points, going 7-for-8 from the foul line. Karl Charles added 12 points. Robert Champion, Holy Cross' leading scorer at 13.2 points per game, was held to five points at Rhode Island. Alexander averages 12.4 points and a team-high 5.1 rebounds per game. As a team, the Crusaders are averaging 59.8 points per game.
