The Quincy Quotient... For the second straight game, sophomore guard Quincy McKnight set a new career-high in scoring with a game-high 28 points in the win over Hofstra Tuesday night. He opened 2016-17 in a big way last Friday, scoring a career-high 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting. He added nine rebounds and four steals. He has scored over 20 points twice in the first two games this season, something he didn't do all of last season. McKnight averaged 11.4 points per game last season on his way to a spot on the NEC All-Rookie Team. He was also third on the team in rebounding at 5.3 per game. McKnight was named NEC Rookie of the Week five times last season, twice in the last four weeks of the regular season.

Hoehn's Run Leads To Win Over Hofstra... Sean Hoehn scored eight straight points over a span of 0:51 late in Tuesday's game against Hofstra, giving SHU the 86-85 lead with 0:24 left. He finished the game with 12 points and a game-high three steals. Hoehn finished his freshman season in a flourish, averaging 7.7 points per game over his last 10 regular season games. He scored a career-high 19 points at LIU Brooklyn on Jan. 27, 2016. Hoehn shot 50% from the three-point line, making a triple in nine of the 10 games. He also had a 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio, dishing out nine assists on Feb. 6, 2016 in SHU's 98-90 win over LIU Brooklyn.

Mighty Matej, Off The Bench... Fifth-Year forward Matej Buovac is SHU's leading returning three-point shooter after making 36 three-pointers last season. Buovac shot 33.6% from the arc and hit at least one three in 13 of the last 15 regular season games in 2015-16.
