Montes Named to All-Connecticut Six Preseason Team

FAIRFIELD, Conn – On the eve of the men's basketball Connecticut Six opener against Fairfield, senior forward Louis Montes (Brockton, MA) was named to the All-Connecticut Six preseason team. Along with Sacred Heart, the Connecticut Six consists of Quinnipiac, Central Connecticut, Hartford, Fairfield, and Yale. Sacred Heart went 9-20 last season and finished ninth in the NEC.

Montes was the only Pioneer to start all 29 games last season and is the leading returning scorer, having averaged 14.4 points per game in 2012-13. Montes shot 48% from the field and 70% from the free throw line. The senior forward is also the leading returning rebounder from a year ago (6.2 rebs/gm) and will look to lead a Pioneer team that missed the Northeast Conference tournament last season.
