Hunt Seat Completes Shows At UCONN

STORRS, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University Equestrian Team Hunt Seat completed its events at UCONN this morning. The team returns to action on Sunday Mar. 3 when the Pioneers host the Hunt Seat shows beginning at 10:00 a.m. The team will also honor their seniors that day as well.

Eight Pioneers took first place at the show today including junior Emily Spellman who placed first in Intermediate Fences Section B and with the finish, she qualified for Hunt Seat Regional Championships which will take place on Saturday, Mar. 30. Sophomore Lea Mascola also qualified for regionals as she placed first in Novice Fences Section D. The final Pioneer to qualify for regionals would be Adrianna Dattoli who placed first in the Alumni Flat.



Open Fences Section A- Cariann Johnson placed 1st

Open Fences Section B- Gabi Sorrentino did not place

Open Fences Section C- Brigitta Shepard placed 2nd


Intermediate Fences Section A - Michaela Fritsch placed 6th and Annie Bergere did not place

Intermediate Fences Section B- Emily Spellman placed 1st  qualified


Novice Fences Section A- Danielle DeRisio placed 1st

Novice Fences Section C- Devon Cavaliere placed 6th

Novice Fences Section D- Lea Mascola placed 1st qualified


Alumni Flat- Adrianna Dattoli placed 1st qualified


Walk Trot- Krista Hiatrides placed 2nd


Beginner Walk Trot Canter- Emily Scrobe placed 5th


Novice Flat Section A- Emily Spellman placed 4th

Novice Flat Section B- Annie Bergere placed 1st

Novice Flat Section C- Alyssa Kinney placed 3rd


Intermediate Flat Section A- Gabi Sorrentino and Gina Gramarossa placed 1st and 2nd
