Collin Engstrom joined Sacred Heart in June 2018 after previously serving as the Assistant Director of Football Sports Performance at Yale University. At Yale, he helped train the squad that captured the 2017 Ivy League football championship, as well as the 2018 NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse national championship. He also served as an assistant sport performance coach with the Yale Weightlifting Club.
Engstrom arrived at Yale in February 2017, shortly after graduating with a master's in human performance from the University of Alabama. While at Alabama, he served as a strength and conditioning intern with the Crimson Tide for three years while completing graduate research. He received his bachelor’s in exercise physiology after graduating Magna Cum Laude from East Carolina University in May 2014, where he was a member of the Kinesiology Club and the Buccaneer Weightlifting Club.
Engstrom has been certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Certified Level-1 Olympic Weightlifting Coach from United States of America Weightlifting, and a Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
