Sacred Heart University Executive Director of Athletics Bobby Valentine announced the addition of Rachel Reeves as Pioneer Fund Coordinator. In her role, she will be responsible for the planning, organizing and implementation of athletic fundraising special events, plan and manage the Friends and Family campaign, and work with the annual fund to develop comprehensive athletic annual giving appeals.
"I look forward to working with Rachel as we continue to grow the athletic giving culture at Sacred Heart University," said Mike Morrison, Director of Athletic Development. "She is an engaging and talented young professional who will make and immediate impact on Pioneer athletics."
Reeves comes to SHU from New York Institute of Technology, where she served as the Development Officer for Athletics. In that role, she oversaw fundraising for NYIT's 13 varsity sports, organized and implemented athletic fundraising events and was the department liaison to the Office of Alumni Relations and Office of Development.
"I am eager to meet our coaches, student-athletes, parents and friends and integrate myself into the Pioneer community," said Reeves. "I would like to thank Vice President of Advancement Bill Reidy, Bobby Valentine, and Mike Morrison for the opportunity to join their team at SHU."
Reeves is a double graduate of Wagner College, earning a B.S. in Marketing in 2014 and an MBA in 2016. She began her professional career at her alma meter, as an assistant coach for the Seahawks women's soccer team.
