FAIRFIELD, Conn. (October 1, 2007) - Freshman Dana Troy (Lebanon, CT) of the women's cross country team was named the Enterprise-Rent-A-Car/Sacred Heart University Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of September 24th-30th.

Troy became the fifth Pioneer to win the running of the Fairfield University Victor F. Leeber, S.J. Invitational last Saturday and in the process guided SHU to their fourth-consecutive victory at the event and ninth in the past 11 years. Troy broke the tape with a time of 19:28.17 for her first ever win and top-five finish. The freshman standout picks up her first individual title in just her third collegiate race. The Pioneers topped the field of seven teams, edging out Fordham by three points for the team title.

Troy will lead the Pioneers the New England Championships this weekend at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachussetts.
