Sacred Heart freshmen cross country runners Andrew Houghtalen (West Charlton, NY) and Kimberly DeLoreto (Hillsdale, NJ) earned this week's Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week Awards. It is the first rookie awards for both.

Houghtalen earns Rookie of the Week honors after leading all-freshman runners at the Ted Owen Invitational. The West Charlton, NY native finished 18th, with a time of 27:11, in a field that featured eight Northeast Conference schools. The time was the 15th fastest time on an 8K course in school history.

Despite having only run track and field in high school, DeLoreto led all freshmen harriers at the Ted Owen Invitational, finishing seventh in just her second cross country meet. Her time of 18:20 was the school's second fastest time at Stanley Quarter Park and third fastest in a 5K course.
