FAIRFIELD, CT - Sophomore setter Courtney Kidd-Kadlubek (Santa Barbara, CA) of the women's volleyball team was named the Enterprise Rent-a-Car/Sacred Heart University Student-Athlete of the Week today for the week ending September 7.
Kidd-Kadlubek averaged 11.13 assists per game with 167 total in four matches last week. She was also a terror behind the service line with 15 service aces to lead all Pioneers. She also finished the week with 31 digs and nine total blocks. She was effective on the attack when called on, making nine kills with just one error. She racked up 55 assists in a tough five set loss to Bryant in the title match of the Sacred Heart Invitational on Sunday and was named to the All-Tournament team. In a 3-0 blanking of Harvard Sunday afternoon, Kidd-Kadlubek had 35 assists, three kills, six digs and a match-high seven service aces.
The win over Harvard on Sunday was the first ever for a Pioneer women's volleyball team over an Ivy League opponent. It also marks the earliest point in the season in Division I that the Pioneers have reached four wins. SHU set a school Division I high in 2007 with nine wins
