Final Stats

STATEN ISLAND, NY - Sophomores Alex Bavasi (Flagstaff, AZ) and Annie Archer (Littleton, CO) combined for 24 kills, while hitting over .400, to lead the Sacred Heart women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Wagner College in a Northeast Conference match Sunday afternoon.

The Pioneers improved to 6-13 overall and 1-1 in the NEC with the victory. SHU won the match with scores of 30-23, 30-27 and 30-28.

Bavasi led the Pioneers with 13 kills and collected seven digs. Archer had 11 kills and was also involved in six blocks. Freshmen Mydori Saipale (Oxnard, CA) and Courtney Kidd-Kadlubek (Santa Barbara, CA) led the SHU defense with 17 digs apiece.

Ashley Pepper led Wagner (2-12, 0-3) with a match-high 15 kills.

The Pioneers are off until they play a pair of matches at home next weekend against Quinnipiac and St. Francis (NY).
