PALISADES PARK, N.J. – The Sacred Heart women's track and field team won five events at the FDU Knight Classic at the Palisades Sportsplex Saturday.
Freshman Mareena DiMilia (Claryville, N.Y.) won two events in the field. DiMilia won the hammer throw (48.31m) and the javelin (34.64m), while finishing fifth in the discus (31.99m). Brianna Castrogivanni (Commack, N.Y.) won the 1,500m in a time of 4:43.28, as Elizabeth Hutchins (Pawcatuck, Conn.) finished second in 4:52.23. Emma Bolduc (Peterborough, N.H.) was fourth in the race with a time of 4:58.82. The Pioneers took the top six spots in the 5,000m as Shannon Hickey (South Easton, Mass.) won in a time of 18:08.78. Freshman Jennifer Hahne (Madison, Conn.) was second in 18:18.76 with Molly Barker third in a time of 18:21.67. Sacred Heart also took six of the top seven places in the 400m. Katelyn Racanelli (Riverside, Conn.)won the event in a time of 59.42 seconds. Bridget Carey (St. James, N.Y.) was second in 1:01.20 as Shay Cronin (Prospect, Conn.) finished fourth in a time of 1:02.80.
Angela Harrison (North Haledon, N.J.) and Ashia Wright (Cheshire, Conn.) finished second and third, respectively, in the 100m. Harrison ran a time of 13.03 seconds and Wright had a time of 13.27 seconds. The Pioneers also had second and third place finishes in the pole vault. Sara Isaacson (Aberdeen, N.J.) placed second by clearing 2.93m and Sarah Wallis (Forked River, Conn.) finished third by clearing 2.77m. Christine Donnelly (Eldred, N.Y.) was third in the 800m with a time of 2:25.92. Gabriella Nutile (Park Ridge, N.J.) was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 9.22m.
