BOSTON – Senior Kolbi Smith (Valatie, N.Y.) won the shot put Sunday as the Sacred Heart women's track and field team competed at the USA Track & Field – New England Indoor Championships on Sunday.
Smith had a throw of 43'3.75" to win the shot put, as Mareena DiMilia (Claryville, N.Y.) placed third with a toss of 38'8.25". The duo also finished third and fourth respectively in the weight throw, with Smith recording a throw of 48'8.75" to finish third. DiMilia was fourth with a throw of 47'3". Freshman Nicole Bartosch (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) had a pair of top-10 finishes. Bartosch was third in the long jump with a leap of 17'6.5" and was sixth in the 60m hurdles in a time of 9.34 seconds. Dylan Baker (Petersham, Mass.) finished eighth in the long jump with a jump of 16'6". Sara Isaacson (Aberdeen, N.J.) had a seventh-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 10'6".
On the track, freshman Jennifer Hahne (Madison, Conn.) finished sixth in the mile in a time of 5:13.58. Two other Pioneers finished in the top-10. Shannon Hickey (South Easton, Mass.) was ninth in 5:20.58 with Cynthia Gray 10th in a time of 5:23.50. Katelyn Racanelli (Riverside, Conn.) placed eighth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:19.08. Teresa Gagliostro (Washington, N.J.) also had an eighth-place finish in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:44.02.
The Pioneers are back in action on Friday, Feb. 28 for the first day of the New England Intercollegiate Track & Field Championships at Boston University.
