Full NEC Tennis Release

Sacred Heart women's tennis players, senior Lauren Galatie (Monroe, CT) and junior Pam Pillo (Shelton, CT) were named Prince / Northeast Conference Tennis Players of the Week announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

The veteran doubles team of Galatie and Pillo commenced play in 2005 with a fifth place finish for the Pioneers at the Fairfield Doubles Festival on Saturday. The tandem dropped their a pair of "A" flight matches to Stony Brook, 8-6, and Providence, 9-8 (2), but came back to beat Fairfield, 8-3, then ousted Albany, 8-5, in the fifth place match. Galatie, a senior, has now been awarded five Prince/NEC Player of the Week awards over the course of her career, while Pillo, a junior, has been tabbed on three occasions.

The Pioneer women are back in action this weekend at the University of Rhode Island Duals.
