TennisSacred Heart University Wins Back-to-Back Northeast Conference Commissioner's CupsFor the second-consecutive year, the Sacred Heart University athletic program has been awarded the Northeast Conference Commissioner's Cup winning the 2008-09 title on the strength of five league championships this season. In addition, Sacred Heart won the NEC Women's Cup Championship for the third-straight year and for the first time in program history won the NEC Men's Cup Championship as well, sweeping all three awards. TennisFive Women's Tennis Players Garner All-NEC HonorsFreshman Kristina Chao (Needham, MA) was named First Team All-Northeast Conference, leading a group of five Sacred Heart players who earned All-NEC honors in women's tennis. The awards were announced Wednesday by the league office. Sophomore Elizabeth Harrington (Westerly, RI) and freshman Delaney Downing (Englewood, CO) were each named to the second team in singles while Julianne Kasinow (Wall, NJ) and Darcy Demers (Norton, MA) earned second team honors in doubles.
