Final Stats

The Sacred Heart women's tennis team swept the University of Hartford on Monday afternoon, 7-0, while the men lost 5-2 to the Hawks. The Pioneer women improve to 9-6 in dual match play while the men are 0-12.

The Pioneers won every match on Tuesday in both singles and doubles. Senior Pam Pillo (Shelton, CT) beat Raquel Casino at #1 singles, 6-2, 6-0. Pillo and sophomore Nicole Betz (Long Beach, NY) teamed up to best Casino and Kasey Michels at #1 doubles, 8-5.

Betz picked up a singles win at #3 over Michels, 6-1, 6-0. At #2 singles, freshman Julianne Kasinow (Wall, NJ) earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Stephanie Schnobel. Kasinow and fellow freshman Ashley Amalfe (Clark, NJ) beat Schnobel and Liz Weiner by an 8-0 score. The duo is 5-0 on the season in doubles play. Amalfe won her #6 singles match, 8-0, over Jessica Ruggles.

Junior Jessica Schnell (Schenectady, NY) beat Weiner at #4, 6-1, 6-2 and sophomore Mandy Finkelstein (Portland, CT) won at #5, 8-1, over Michelle Tafur.

The last doubles match featured Finkelstein and junior Britany Price (Meriden, CT) beating Ruggles and Tafur, 8-1.

On the men's side, junior Jason Farhadi (Saunderstown, RI) beat Aaron Kooden, 6-3 and 6-3 at #5 singles. Freshman Kevin Pustelniak (Stockholm, NJ) beat Tim Glickman 6-2, 6-2 at #6 singles.
