FAIRFIELD, Conn – The Sacred Heart Pioneers rebounded from losing the doubles point to sweep all six singles matches on their way to a 6-1 win over the Robert Morris Colonials Friday afternoon at the Sacred Heart Tennis Courts. The Pioneers are now 2-0 in the NEC this season.
Senior Gabi Kaldan (New Brunswick, NJ) recorded her 100th and 101st wins over her career with an 8-5 win with Katie DeRienzo (Douglaston, NY) to earn the Pioneers only doubles win, and then a 7-5, 6-2 win over Marie-Sophie Heine at number two singles.
In other singles action, DeRienzo and sophomore Paige Olson (Sykesville, MD) both won hard fought three setters at number one and number four singles respectively.
