The Sacred Heart University tennis program celebrated the life of Patricia Dacey Woods 02' at "Tennis for Tricia", a gathering of SHU Tennis alumni and friends as well as the Woods and Dacey families on campus this past Saturday. Through the generosity of the SHU Tennis community, over $4000 was raised for the Patricia Dacey Woods Memorial Fund at the event.
"It was an honor to coach Tricia here at Sacred Heart and it was great to see the love and support our SHU Tennis Family have given to husband Jimmie (SHU Tennis Class of 2000) as well as their daughters Sean Reilly (age 4) and Brooklyn (8 months) during this time", stated Director of Tennis/Women's Tennis Coach Mike Guastelle. "We hope this fund and an event like this will not only help the family financially, but also keep the memory of how wonderful a person Tricia was."
On Saturday, a park bench was dedicated in Tricia's memory overseeing the tennis courts followed by SHU Tennis alums getting to play some doubles as well as having a barbecue lunch.
