Mulvey Wins 1-Meter Dive at NECs

NEW HAVEN, CT - Junior diver Drew Mulvey (Bridgewater, CT) won the 1-meter dive at the Northeast Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday.  As a team, Sacred Heart is currently in fourth place among the six team field.

Mulvey, the NEC Diver of the Week from December 15, won the event with a score of 228.85. She beat out Central Connecticut's Madison Vestergaard and Kristen Rossi.

Head coach Richard Ludemann states that Mulvey's success, "has been an asset in regards to rounding out our program.  The bases are just about covered thanks to her and (diving coach Joe Somma's) dedicated efforts."

In the 50-yard freestyle, freshman Juliette Wallerstein placed sixth with a time of 25.51 seconds.

Competition continues today and rolls through until Saturday afternoon.
