SHU Swimming Falls to Siena 126-79

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (February 1, 2014)—The Sacred Heart swim team fell to Siena 126-79 this past Saturday. The Pioneers brought home four first place finishes, including two team wins in the 200 yard Medley Relay (1:53.39) and the 200 yard Freestyle Relay (1:43.50).

 

Freshmen Katrina Dy (Matawan, N.J.) and Jillian Crosby (Port Monmouth, N.J.) notched Sacred Heart's only two individual wins. Dy topped her competition swimming the 200 yard Breaststroke in 2:40.47, while Crosby won the 200 yard Freestyle in 2:01.10.

 

Sacred Heart picked up a trio of second place finishes from Malvina Reinhold (Gothenberg, Sweden) in the 200 yard Breaststroke, Caleigh Dion (Dunstable, Mass.) in the 100 yard Freestyle and Elizabeth Bennett (Fairbanks, Alaska) in the 200 yard IM. Those three also took home a fourth place finish each.

 

After a week off, the Pioneers will close the season at the Northeast Conference Championship February 19-22 at MIT.
