FAIRFIELD, CT (November 11, 2003) - Senior Christine DePierro (Cromwell, CT) was named the Sacred Heart University Athlete of the Week for the week of November 3rd through November 9th.

The Cromwell, CT native set two school records while winning two events at Iona on Saturday. DePierro won the 200-yard freestyle, setting a new Pioneer record with a time of 1:59.38. She also set a new school mark in the 500-yard freestyle, winning with a time of 5:17.59. The team lost a close 118-115 decision to the Gaels, but overall set four school records in the process.

DePierro and the rest of the Pioneers are next in action this Saturday, November 15th when they travel to Seton Hall at 1 pm.
