FAIRFIELD, CT (October 29, 2003) - The Sacred Heart University women's swimming team was picked to finish eighth in the NEC Preseason Poll. Wagner was picked as the Preseason favorite with Georgia Southern, Gardner-Webb, Georgetown, and Central Connecticut rounding out the top five.

The Pioneers will be led by senior captains Christine DePierro (Cromwell, CT) and Katie Dervan (West Roxbury, MA). Both DePierro and Dervan swam to first place finished at the Wagner Invitational this past weekend. Freshmen Meghan Ceglarski (Bristol, CT) and Krystina Eikeseth (Staten Island, NY) also had strong showings at Wagner.
