Fairfield, CT - Freshman Katie Marshall (Cumberland, RI) has been named the Northeast Conference Swimmer of the Week for the week of January 14-20. The rookie is the second Pioneer to earn NEC honors this season, and third in program history.

Marshall earns NEC Swimmer of the Week honors after setting three school records in the Pioneers' tri-meet at Wagner. The freshman captured first in both the 100 and 200 fly with SHU record times of 1:00.24 and 2:10.11, respectively, before helping the Pioneers' relay team to a school record time of 3:51.82 in the 400 free. Marshall's 100 fly time, which ranks as the seventh fastest time in the NEC this season, qualified her for the ECAC championships, while her 200 fly time ranks as the third fastest in the NEC this season.

The Pioneers are back in the pool this Saturday when they visit St. Peter's. The meet starts at 1:00 pm.
