Swim Team in Action Twice Over Halloween Weekend

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY - On Saturday, the Sacred Heart University swim team competed in a tri-meet against Northeast Conference opponents Wagner and Saint Francis (NY) at Saint Francis. The Pioneers lost to Wagner 66-29. Junior Katie Marshall (Cumberland, RI/Saint Mary Academy-Bay View) took home first place in the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:01.38 and finished second in the 100-butterfly in 1:00.52. [+]

Swimming Competes at Rutgers' Sonny Werblin Invite

PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Sacred Heart University swimming team competed in the Sonny Werblin Invite at Rutgers University this weekend. The top competitor for the Pioneers was junior Katie Marshall (Cumberland, RI/Saint Mary Academy-Bay View), placing third in the 200-fly in 2:11.09. She also finished ninth in the 100-fly in 1:01.65. The Sacred Heart University women's swimming team opens the 2009-2010 season at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, New Jersey this weekend. Swimming Tabbed Fifth in Preseason Poll

The Sacred Heart University swimming team was picked to finish fifth out of seven in the Northeast Conference for the 2009-2010 season. The preseason poll was conducted by the seven coaches in the conference. Central Connecticut received six first place votes to earn to top spot. [+]
