New Rochelle, NY - The Iona Gales won 10 of 13 events enroute to knocking off Sacred Heart 123-82 in women's swimming Saturday afternoon in New Rochelle, NY. The loss dropped the Pioneers to 1-4 on the season.

The Pioneers three event wins came in the 200 yard butterfly, 200 yard breaststroke and the final event, the 400 yard freestyle relay. In the butterfly, junior Krystina Eikeseth (Staten Island, NY) won with a time of 2:20.56, 7 seconds better then teammate Bridget McGowan (Norfolk, MA). Sophomore Laura Johnson (Red Hook, NY) won the breastroke with a time of 2:42.60. Adriana Morgan (Poughkeepsie, NY) and Samantha Cerami (Mahwah, NJ) rounded out a Pioneer sweep of the points in the event. The Pioneers won the relay with a time of 3:59.71. Eikeseth swam the second leg of the race to be part of her second win of the day.

Sacred Heart is back in the pool on Sunday afternoon when the travel to Central Connecticut State University to compete in the Blue Devil Duals. The event is set to begin at 10:00 am.
