Bridgeport, CT - Sacred Heart swimmers won six of 13 events to claim two dual meet wins Saturday at the Wheeler Recreation Center. The Pioneers beat Manhattan 163-54 and edged Bridgeport 114-104.

SHU was led by junior diver Tansey True (Mendham, NJ) who won two events in her first weekend of competition. In the 1 meter event, she notched 70.35 points and then went on to ring up a score of 71.05 in the 3 meter diving event.

Freshman Johannah Kos (Feeding Hills, MA) swam two winning events support the Pioneers. First she turned in a time of 2:27.13 to claim the 200 meter backstroke. Then she swam the anchor leg of the 400 meter freestyle relay which SHU won with a time of 4:19.82. Junior Jennifer Crowley (Newington, CT) and freshmen Jackie Balder (Levittown, NY) and Amanda Mason (Dexter, ME) also swam on the relay team.

Freshman Katie Marshall (Cumberland, RI) won the 200 meter butterfly with a time of 2:22.50. Meanwhile, freshman Molly McDonald (Hazlet, NJ) took first in the 200 meter individual medley, posting a time of 2:29.83.

The Pioneers are back in the pool next Saturday, November 10, when they visit Iona. The meet starts at 1:00 pm.
