The Sacred Heart softball team has been picked to finish second in the Northeast Conference in 2010 in the annual preseason poll of the league's head coaches. The Pioneers are the defending NEC champions after running through the tournament last year as the #3 seed. Sacred Heart is anchored by junior Jen Russell (Seymour, CT), a first team NEC All-Star and NEC Tournament MVP. [+]
1/8/2010 - SoftballSoftball Inks Two For 2011 SeasonCo-Head Coaches Elizabeth Luckie and Pam London announced the signing of Natinal Letters of Intent for two players who will join the Pioneers in 2011. Jade Bowins (Frederick, MD) and Melissa Mankey (La Palma, CA) recently decided they will play their collegiate careers for Sacred Heart. Bowins is a center fielder by trade who has speed and can also play either corner outfield position. Mankey is a versatile player who could play third base, second base, and catch. [+] |

12/16/2009 - SoftballSoftball Names Captains For 2010 SeasonCo-Head coaches Elizabeth Luckie and Pam London announced today that four players will serve as captains of the softball team for the 2010 campaign. Graduate Student Amanda Bradley (Langley, BC), senior Adrian Fitzsimon (Sacramento, CA), and juniors Jen Russell (Seymour, CT) and Shannon McCoy (Yorba Linda, CA) will serve as captains for the upcoming season.
